The first volume of Cover Ups (2016) was only released digitally. So, when the second volume was finished, we decided to combine these two on one CD!

This is a Bandcamp/mailorder only CD, number of copies will probably be 100 (depending on number of preorders).

MPORTANT NOTE: since this CD is printed in low numbers, it is copied (burnt) onto CD-R discs. It is however done at a professional pressing plant, they use the market's absolute best CD substrate (Japanese Mitsui). The cover is in proper full color offset/digital printing.

The Flunk tradition is to have an annual Christmas party, "julebord" in Norwegian, with a big dinner and plenty of drinks. A kind of blast in the dark, before the festive season, around the time of winter solstice.The previous collection, "Cover Ups – The Home Recordings", was released in 2016, a compilation of such Christmas party recordings. Including TV drama hit "Only You" (by Yazoo).

This new collection has also been put together with some "julebord recordings", but most of the material was recorded during two days of acoustic recordings in Calmeyer Studio in Oslo in August 2022. In addition to some cover favourites, the band also recorded new takes on some old Flunk songs. One, "Two Icicles" from the "Personal Stereo" album, has almost never been performed live. The covers include Rod Stewart/Everything But The Girl broken heart classic "I Don't Want To Talk About It" and Simon & Gafunkel's "The Sound of Silence". Anja was singing the latter when she was a teen in an all girls band. Other recordings include covers by Jesus and Mary Chain, The Stranglers, Soft Cell and Radiohead. Three of the songs were recorded in bass player Ole Kristian Wetten's basement studio in Oslo, while two (Flunk songs "Your Koolest Smile" and "Under the Covers") were recorded in Anja's cabin deep in the woods outside Oslo during the first covid autumn, October 2020.

The physical versions (both CD and LP) includes both vol 1 and vol 2.

Preorders gets the tracks from the first Cover Ups up-front, along with the new single Golden Brown.

Both this remix album and the original release are essential. The modern classical original was such a beautiful mix of melody and mood and the remixes just go one step further. DF Tram, another of my current favourite artists, puts his own spin on my favourite couple of tracks here, but all of the remixes stand as tracks in their own right without completely disregarding the beauty of the originals.
